Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN) is a group
formed by a network of friends who were newly-retied or
soon-to-be-retired. Its purpose is to help others in the Auburn area
who are in need of assistance with home repairs, home maintenance,
etc. The group is not affiliated with any particular church -- its
members belong to various churches in the Auburn area.
There are currently over a dozen members who are
willing to give of their time and talents to help those who are
unable to perform various tasks themselves. The intention of NHN is
not to perform routine jobs such as weekly lawn mowing, snow
blowing, etc. but rather to deal with seasonal tasks such as
installing and removing screens, getting snow blowers ready for
winter, and occasional minor home repairs.
Sample projects that have been performed in the
past include
-
cleaning gutters
-
helping with tree/shrub pruning
-
weeding in early spring and late fall
-
minor plumbing and electrical repairs
