From Lady B: "The Mold-free Gourmet" cookbook was first published in 1998. This project began as a personal quest to help those who truly suffered from food mold allergies, and to enable them to eat a normal diet. Due to other priorities, active cookbook sales were discontinued in late 2003. However, the desire to help remained; therefore, the contents of the cookbook are now published here, for the benefit of food mold allergy sufferers everywhere.

About the mold-free dietFrom the Forward:
The recipes in this cookbook were designed to fit within the following food mold diet elimination parameters:
- No cheese of all kinds, including cottage cheese
- No mushrooms
- No vinegar and vinegar-containing foods, such as mayonnaise and other salad dressings, catsup, chili sauce, pickles, pickled beets, relishes and green olives
- No sour cream, sour milk and buttermilk
- No alcoholic liquors, especially beer and wine
- No soured breads, such as pumpernickel, coffee cakes and other foods made with large amounts of yeast
- No sauerkraut
- No cider and homemade root beer (commercial root beer is fine)
- No pickled and smoked meats and fish, including delicatessen foods, sausages, frankfurters, corned beef and pickled tongue
- No dried fruits, such as apricots, dates, prunes, figs and raisins
- No canned tomatoes, unless homemade and all canned juices (frozen fruit juice is fine)
- Eat only freshly opened canned foods and freshly prepared fresh fruits
- Do not eat meat or fish more than 24 hours old
- Avoid food if made from leftovers such as meatloaf, hash and croquettes
- Avoid hamburger unless made from freshly ground meat.
